Le Petit Olivier

It was in 1996 that co-founders Xavier Padovani and Eric Renard were to create La Phocéenne de Cosmétique based on a simple idea: to make high-quality cosmetic products that draw their beneficial effects directly from nature and respect old traditions, available to everyone by commercialising them in large-scale distribution.

The Le Petit Olivier brand which was dreamt up in 1999 was not launched until 2003. While Provence and its scents were sources of inspiration, the strong values of Le Petit Olivier quickly integrated into the brand in a world which very much became its own.

Its name was not down to mere chance. The olive tree, a symbol of universal values, represents ancient culture for its ability to adapt which enables it to offer a richness which defies arid soil. The olive tree, a one thousand year old tree, grows in poor soil requiring a lot of sunshine and care.
A symbol of strength and wisdom in Ancient Greece, its prestige has never ceased to grow on a scale with its expansion.
From Greece to Spain, including Egypt, Italy, Tunisia, Morocco and France, the olive tree firmly established itself in the areas surrounding the Mediterranean up until the 19th century. With the period of major exploration it even crossed the Straits of Gibraltar to travel towards more "exotic" lands such as California, Mexico, Chilli, South Africa and Australia...

That is the spirit of Le Petit Olivier: to draw the original beneficial effects of nature directly from the natural, sensorial and cultural wealth of the regions.
